Step 1: Start by taping around the rear window(s).
Step 2: Run the rubber around the window flange opening.
Step 3: Start at the top. DO NOT stretch the rubber. In fact, I try to trim about 1/8" long, then cram it into the joint. The rubber will shrink a little over time. If it's cut long, the shrinkage will not pull the joint apart.
Step 4: This is the tool to put the lock bead in. Get the tool started, then insert the lock bead strip. Start the lock bead at the bottom. I found that the counter part rubber was just too hard. I switched to a rubber kit I found at Dave's Truck Parts in Clairemont, NC (828) 695-8144 & it was so much easier. I found that window cleaner makes a good lubricant, without leaving residue.
Step 5: After running the length of the window, NOT STRETCHING the lock bead, cut the bead end a little long.
Step 6: Then cram the lock bead end in.
Step 7: Pull the tape off & enjoy. Put a little weatherstrip cement in the rubber joint to seal it.
Step 8: Now repeat the above steps for the other rear window(s). This took me about 45 minutes.
